It's surprising how many people in the design community still use such inappropriate fonts for the work that they do. Even worse is when instructors use hideous fonts for their handout's or syllabus. And I know what you might be thinking... they don't know any better, they aren't designers... Well I am looking at an assignment sheet from one of my design related classes with Comic Sans spilled all over it.
After viewing that assignment sheet, I decided to go talk to my good friend The Internet, and see if I was just being crazy... Or if this font was as bad as I believed it to be. And what do you know... the first link pulled up when googling Comic Sans will lead you here.
I think I remember reading a quote a while ago: Friends don't let friends use Comic Sans.
Please, do your part to help make the world a more beautiful place.
Awesome Daniel!! You just graduated to level 2 designer!
ReplyDeleteI'm friends with The Internet as well. We spend a ridiculous amount of time together.
ReplyDeleteI’m a big fan of typography, just thinks its fascinating how each font was personally created by a designer. Imagine you could walk up to some one and be like hi my name is Vincent Connare, I’m the guy who created comic sans!.. hah just kidding! But I do think comic sans is a little over used, so many people continue to use it over and over again. There are so many bigger and better fonts out there!. O, the possibilities beyond putting the sans in comic sans.
